If Earth's temperatures rise by 4 degrees, the methane ice at the bottom oceans will melt, resulting in a further 4 degree increase, so none of this is essentially correct or matters. Recalculate this estimate.

I do not believe this map reflects reality. Why would the entire map become a desert by becoming 4 degrees warmer? I know global warming is a catastrophic disaster that will harm millions of people but I just can't imagine that the entire central world will become an uninhabited desert.

I'm not a climate or physical geography expert, but this scenario seems unlikely. When ice sheets melt, it would just expose bare rock, not arable land, right? Also, let's say that in 100 years the Southern US & Mexico become as hot as the Amazon is today. Why then would the US and Mexico become a desert and not a humid tropical climate? If the world has more liquid water and more tropical temperatures, why would so many new deserts form? Once again, I'm no scientist or researcher, but this video is really counterintuitive.

So having deserts across the equatorial belt suggests that high pressure dominates this area, but the earth’s trade winds from both hemispheres converge there creating low pressure due to rising air. If the earth warms then the trade winds would likely strengthen giving stronger monsoons and cyclones and greater uplift where the monsoonal trough is located. this chart highly dubious at best. Luckily it’s just a wild stab in the dark that 4 degrees increase in the global average mean temperature.

This video is highly inaccurate. I am disappointed in how many inaccuracies are contained in it. I love this change and its content, but this video is terrible. The world will not become full of deserts as this model suggests. This video felt more like a low-quality Alternate History video than the usual factual videos that you create. I am disappointed that this video made it as far as it has and I hope that you do something to address how inaccurate it is.

What are your sources? The Japan becoming a desert is a fucking nonsense from climatology point of view. Its getting wetter and at risk of flooding due to climate change. You don't get deserts on small islands surrounded by waters, but in the middle of the continents. Same for India, as the Monsoon weather will only inensify and Himalayan Mountains stop moisture, and only northern India will have lack of rain. Regarding other statements they are just so vague, as if pulled out from the ass: Here will be desert, here will be inhabitable, New Zealand will be only one true habitable...blablbalbalblablablabla. Fuck this video was lazy.

We love your channel, RealLifeLore! But make no mistake, this video is spreading straight up misinformation about Global Warming. It completely ignores significant aspects of what makes climate change so devastating, is extremely speculative, and easily debunked on every level. The writer cited is a hack, and the spread of fake news about important issues is below the educational standards we expect of RealLifeLore.

I love your videos, but this video is entirely built on a false premise. By the logic with which the map was created, all of south America should be a desert right now. Instead, climate is far more complicated. I would love to see a video using the latest, most accurate research.

In Devonian period average temperature was at 20 Celsius. It was 6 above today. In Cretaceous period average temperature was 18 Celsius. It was 4 above today and everything was OK. Maybe we as humans are not prepared for such changes, but nature will adjust even to 18-20 Celsius dregrees.

Fearless Potato
Fearless Potato

This is quite dumb but during the dinosaurs the climate was somewhere in the 6 to 8 degrees hotter and it is known that there was far more forests and green areas than today, so it is likely that a hotter world will just make more ocean water to evaporate and rain and transform several deserts into forests and the current forests will move and grow bigger with time of course changing the amount of oxygen on the atmosphere is really nothing good but the world becoming a desert is utterly ridiculous

The TSAR bomba isn’t even here anymore. How do you think they figured out how powerful it was. Also even if they managed to recreate the tsar bomba AND it had the power to reactivate volcanoes on the sea floor, it would take a ridiculously long amount of time for those volcanoes to even reach the surface of the ocean.
