My uncle Johnny(my dad's sister's husband) bought one new in 1957. He had been a Ford man before and had even in his former years managed the parts dept. at a Ford dealership in Shreveport, LA. Then, after a few years of struggling financially, bought(or founded) a "home owned" Western Auto dealership in downtown Pineville, LA. After securing financial success, he switched his allegiance to Chrysler and bought this car. It was almost identical to this one except his was fire engine red with a cream white interior and was a beautiful car. Long story short, we still have home videos(8 mm, I guess) of him driving up in it at my grandma's house when arriving for a visit. He was so proud of that car, and rightly so!

Jay, back in the early 80s my high school auto repair class teacher had one of these trucks and a corvair convertible he owned as well. I thought and still think it's one of the coolest vehicles ever made. I sanded and worked on both a lot when we restored them. Great memories and awesome learning! Thanks for making this video! 👍😎👍

If we ever get to the point that cars will be total electric we'll end up with the same issue as now with the price of fuel lending to the cost of living. Many powerplants use fuel to create electricity from monstrous engines.

Greetings: I did catch you passing remark about caring for your employees during the pandemic. My son bought a few 3D plastic printers to make face shields from on-line designs for some hospitals near his home. (I miss his hugs.) My brother is a studio mechanic working mostly on location including your buddy up the street for "fast & furious" cars. Ok, I occasionaly pass the shop hoping to catch a view of something unusual. I last saw you arrive in the big Chrysler while peering over the fence. (Love the traffic light.) My other favorite youtube channel is "Mustie1" from New Hampshire. I now know how to troubleshoot small engines and overhaul VW engines! Another 1950 baby but raised on Long Island. Adam Schiff is my D congressman; couldn't be more proud. Just because they are shaped like glasspacks doesn't mean they are glasspacks. They don't sound like glasspacks, therefore they aren't glasspacks. For example, Walker used to make a "Royal Scot" muffler that was shaped like a glasspack but it used baffles inside rather than fiberglass matting - i.imgur.com/qht9LBM.png If those were glasspacks the fiberglass matting inside would have long since degraded / broken down to the point that they would sound practically like straight pipes.

McLaren P1 - The car is still an icon. The P-1 should be judged on its own. A car, most of the time, is more than just the car itself. It is the company. It is the service. It is the reputation in the country where the car is made. What happened to McLaren? What happened to the quality control and the quality of the parts and the quality on the build line? What happened to the selection and application of paints. Mostly it makes me wonder who was in control of production and numbers? Who was in control of the budget. Who made decisions with regard to expenditures? Limited production super car. How about the relationship of each customer with the company? For 2014 and for Jay Leno, everything appears fine. No problems. What is next for this company? Why is there a perception of nothing but problems with McLaren? After all, this particular P-1 belongs to Jay Leno and it appears that McLaren took care of Mr. Leno's car. Perhaps as well, all of the P-1's. Let's see, with all the negative publicity if McLaren can rebound or what lays in store for the company from here (2020) forward. AF

Monteverdi was the only company for passenger cars in Switzerland, yes. But did you know that GM, Ford and Chrysler also were building automobils in Switzerland? Today you might see one of these here on European car shows occasionally. You will recognize them by the speedo which reads kph instead of mph and some other details. It was done for tax reasons and ended somehow in the mid 70s I think. Think this is the best video about Monteverdi I have ever seen ! Love Jay Leno's channel here on NOmemory 👍👍👍
