Yesterday I went out and bought a set of Milwaukee Shockwave PH2 bits. Today I framed in the end of my carport using my impact driver and 3" exterior screws. I used the bits that came with the impact driver and had some awkward angles that meant the bit was misaligned with the screws and kept skipping out of engagement as the impact action was happening. Very quickly, the bits were chewed up. I used the Shockwave and after many screws, a lot of which had chewed up cross slots by the time I was done, it was hardly marked. It'll take a while to get through the set of 5! These bits are the best I've found, thanks to Project Farm!

Wow that's surprising, I used slick 50 a few times in the 90s. Jumped to Prolong, dumped them, now I use Turbo Maxx. I would love to see how well Turbo maxx does against every other major snake oil company and just plain synthetic oil. I run Turbo Maxx @ 1.25 ox per oil change. That's 5 quart of Penzoil 10w-30 full synthetic plus 1.25oz of turbo maxx. Oil change intervals at 5K. Great partial suspension. Thanks for your very cool thought provoking videos. I am an electrician and I concur with the others that state that this test missed the things that are actually important with electrical tape. Electrical insulating ability especially over time, UV resistance, adhesive performance over long periods, adhesive performance when applied during cold conditions rather than when applied at room temp and then exposed to cold. These sorts of things mean much more to electricians and electrical safety. Thanks, as always, for fair and interesting tests!

Worth noting moisture makes a substantial difference in nylon strength stretch and toughness, some advocate storage in a bucket of water.(I have not made a direct test) Also .080 square line weighs about the same per foot as .095 round, and my trimmer power response seems to back this. I have found the Echo-crossfire(broke to bits) and twisted-maxpower(split ends) to both be garbage, but maybe I got a bad batch of twisted or need to size it up or down. I use it on tall(mature) grass and fibrous weeds(some young brambles though I use a cheap saw blade for heavy brambles), I don't have concrete or fences. Husky titanium worked well, i will use it as a comparison standard after I use up my pile of round-one samples.(Which included oversize and undersize lines.) My modest straight shaft trimmer is rated for .095 round. Tested up to .120 and down to .060, .060(cheap brand) just seems to dissolve with my trimmers power and weed type, while .105 round stihl lasted much longer for scalping dirt but was clearly loading the motor and running much lower RPM.

How about a test of different oils in air compressors. They seem to always call out non detergent oils, but what about if you put in straight weight or 20W-50 detergent oil, or how about transmission fluid, or pure slick 50 or sewing machine oil, or moly oil, or 3 in 1 or cooking oil or just some pure liquid laundry detergent? I guess my main question is why is detergent oil bad for an air compressor?

I have a Battery Minder Charger which is a Desulfator. I installed the on board Battery Minder in a 2008 car I bought new. When I sold the car in 2017 it had the original battery in it and it was still going strong. I didn't install the desulfator until the battery started to fail after about 3 years. You need to test desulfators and see which works the best. I have a friend who works at Batteries+ and says that desulfators cannot do that. This test would take several years to complete. KEEP GOING you do a great job!!!

I'd like to see how long a diesel will run on starting fluid. Out in remote Alaska, we use starting fluid (which is usually a no no) to fire up old tired diesels. They usually end up relying on starting fluid to start once they get used to it. I used to operate an old 988F that took about a can of starting fluid to start, period. No matter the temperature, it wanted a good huff of the good stuff before it got out of bed, so to say lol.
